Dr. Mark Arnold, GAWN, GXPN, GWAS, CISSP, CCSP, CCSK, CISM, CDPSE.

Cybersecurity Technology Strategist

Adjunct Faculty, Harvard University, Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary

Reverend & Staff Minister, Morning Star Baptist Church

Dr. Mark Arnold has spent much of his career curating the strategic direction for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-grade security ecosystems. Further, I possess expertise in building security engineering, architecture, and incident and threat management capabilities for companies.  His expertise has included network behavioral analysis detection, data leakage protection, file integrity monitoring, configuration management, cloud security, network security, and general security incident and event monitoring.  Naturally, building application security programs, implementing vulnerability management and vulnerability intelligence capabilities, penetration testing, and risk assessments are skills native to Dr. Arnold.

What to expect.
Dr. Mark Arnold embodies the persona of an expert technologist, cultural curator, and ecumenical mentor enclosed in and sheathed behind a humble exterior. Mark’s tenure in the security industry spans over 20 years of expertise in building security teams and programs. He has authored maturity model blueprints to optimize risk management processes and implemented security domain practices at numerous large enterprises and service providers. In these 20 years, Mark has worked feverishly to draw attention to the intersection between nation-state cyber threats, disinformation campaigns impacting African American religion, and communities of color. Exceptionally educated at Princeton, Harvard, and Stanford Universities and well-traveled, Mark’s educational focus includes “A Critical Review of Afrocentric Approaches to Biblical Interpretation.” His studies and research have taken him to Jordan, Egypt, Israel, and other parts of the Middle East.
The intersection of technology, ecumenicalism, and diversity of culture will make for a compelling and thought-provoking interview.

Goals and Objectives.
During our pre-planning interview conversation, several poignant topics and questions surrounding strategies for the inclusive application and engagement of technological innovation in underserved communities kept resurfacing. We plan to pose questions and utilize specific and relevant use cases to debate in support of and in opposition to technology education in underserved communities. We will also broach the latest efforts to decrease and diminish DEI programs nationally and locally.
The interview won’t focus solely on questions, as we will encourage and elicit answers from Dr. Arnold as we draw on his research and expertise to provide recommendations and solutions on how underserved communities can survive and thrive in today’s fast-paced technological environment.
