Cyversity is excited to announce the launch of a new Mentorship program!

Mentoring is a key component of developing talent and supporting the success of our next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

The Mentorship program will bring together the Cyversity community across all cybersecurity experience levels and industries. This is an opportunity for executives and industry experts to utilize their experience and mentor junior professionals or those just beginning a career path into cybersecurity. As a member of Cyversity—our goal is to provide the tools and resources to thrive in your professional careers. Our membership benefits are developed to Explore, Assess, Develop, and Connect our members, partners, and the entire cybersecurity industry.

Mentors and Mentees

The program is comprised of mentors and mentees who will collaborate through a series of meetings, events, and other interactions as a way of building a relationship that will focus on developing and strengthening professional and developmental skills, exploring opportunities for growth, networking, and cultivating a stronger Cyversity community.

Mentees must be Cyversity members to participate and can expect a professional, supportive, and caring relationship with their Mentor. Meetings will follow an established curriculum of topics focused on developing and strengthening professional and developmental skills and knowledge, such as interviewing techniques, resume writing, career pathing, and communication skills.

Mentors are qualified by the Cyversity Mentorship Program before acceptance into the program. Mentors have a wealth of knowledge and experience to pass on to Mentees to help them further their Cybersecurity career.

What to Expect

  • Two Mentor/Mentee sessions will be held per year and each session is 12-weeks. Registration is required prior to each session.
  • Six meetings between Mentor and Mentee will be required during each session, with pre-developed curriculum and meeting topics.
  • Monthly Leadership meetings are incorporated where industry leaders will be invited to have interactive conversations with attendees. Mentors and Mentees are invited.
  • There is no charge to participate in the Mentorship Program; however, Mentees are required to have Cyversity membership in good standing.

  • Session Duration: 12-Week Session begins 9/12 and runs through 11/28
  • Mentee Status Requirement: You must be a Cyversity member in good standing

Overview of the Mentee Program

You and your Mentor will meet six times over the 12-week session, focusing on developing and strengthening your professional and developmental skills and knowledge. Topics include interviewing techniques, resume writing, career pathing, and communication skills.

You can expect a close relationship with your Mentor, guided by our structured meeting curriculum. All direct conversations with Mentees/Mentors are kept confidential.

Additionally, once a month during the sessions, you will be invited to special Leadership talks, where you’ll have the opportunity to ask industry leaders what’s on your mind.

The Cyversity Mentorship Program utilizes Qooper, a mentorship platform that will drive engagement, provide interactive opportunities, and deliver results. You will be required to create a login and complete a profile for participation (should take under 5-minutes).

At the conclusion of the 12-week session/s, it is up to you and your Mentor to determine if you would like to continue to meet.

Note: There are two Mentee/Mentor sessions a year and you will need to re-register each time. Your participation is not carried over. You will receive an email when it is time to register for the upcoming sessions.

The Mentorship program is offered as a benefit of being a Cyversity member. All Mentees are required to have Cyversity membership in good standing.
