Speakers:

Mohammad Alam, Lead Cybersecurity Analyst, Target

Mohammad Alam is a Lead Cybersecurity Analyst at Target, where he works in the Business Information Security Office (BISO) and supports the Data Science area. Mohammad has over 20 years of experience in the Information Technology and cybersecurity. He began his career as a software engineer, creating cybersecurity products, and eventually transitioned to providing cybersecurity consulting services. Mohammad joined Target in May, 2022.  In his current position, Mohammad is responsible for aligning the work of the Data Science team with the company’s cybersecurity goals.

Mohammad has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from St. Cloud State University and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). In his leisure time, Mohammad is passionate about staying active through a variety of activities such as CrossFit, running, and continuously expanding his knowledge by learning new skills.

 

Robbie Kahl, Lead Cybersecurity Analyst, Target

Robbie Kahl is a Lead Cybersecurity Analyst working on the Payment Security team. Robbie has 15 years of experience in technology and cybersecurity. He started his career doing third party access management for contact center agents. Robbie joined Target in 2008 and has held roles across different programs including Policy and Governance, Business Information Security Officers, and Payment Security teams. In his current role, Robbie is responsible for leading projects that protect Target’s guests and brand by ensuring PCI compliance.

Robbie has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Masters of Science in Security Technologies from the University of Minnesota.  He is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Internal Security Assessor (ISA) for PCI.  Robbie spends his free time with his family/friends, being active, and board gaming.

 

Dominique Owens, Lead Cybersecurity Analyst, Target

Dominique Owens is a Lead Cybersecurity Analyst for Target’s SOX IT team where she supports the assurance of SOX compliance for financially relevant applications. Dominique has over 12 years of cybersecurity experience leading and supporting multiple roles in the area of Project Management, Test Engineering, and Security and Privacy Compliance.

Dominique holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and is a certificated ICAgile professional. She is currently a member of Cyversity and Women of Cyberjutsu (WSC).  Dominique enjoys spending free time with her family and friends, mentoring/coaching young women in cybersecurity, and catching the latest blockbuster movies whenever possible.

 

Marie Rohman, Lead Cybersecurity Analyst, Target

Marie Rohman is a Lead Cybersecurity Analyst working on Training and Awareness programs for Target team members. In her role, Marie manages Target’s Application Security Training program and supports enterprise-wide initiatives like Target’s October Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign.

Marie has over 10 years’ experience in corporate learning, leadership development and communication. She joined Target’s Cybersecurity team in 2020 after learning and development roles in medical device and consumer electronics.

Marie has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Minnesota and is a Certified Professional Project Manager (CPPM). She is a parent to a preschooler and a toddler and enjoys reading, cycling and traveling.

 

Facilitator:

Nick Tobkin, Director Cybersecurity, Target

Nick Tobkin is a Director of Cybersecurity at Target, where he leads its SOX IT team. Nick has over 20 years of experience in technology and cybersecurity. He started his career as a web application developer and systems administrator. Nick joined Target in 2014 and has led many teams and programs, including Business Information Security Officers, Vendor Security, Controls Assurance, and SOX IT compliance teams. In his current role, Nick is responsible for leading a team of Cybersecurity Analysts that protects Target’s guests and brand by ensuring SOX compliance by adopting simplified technology controls in a rapidly changing environment.

Nick has a Bachelor of Science in Business in Management Information Systems and Finance from the University of Minnesota and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He serves as an Executive Advisor to SOX Professionals Group and frequently presents on cybersecurity topics. Nick enjoys spending his free time with family, hunting, and fishing.
